Hello! Welcome to the studio.
I create small-batch greeting cards, art prints, and custom work using a combination of traditional and more modern letterpress techniques.
Working on an 800-pound, treadle-operated Golding Pearl No. 11—cast from iron in nearby Boston in 1901—each unique print is made by hand, one impression at a time. The process is time-tested and deliberate, with vibrant ink pressed into cotton paper to create a subtle texture you can see and feel.
I love the way the press turns ideas into something you can hold. It turns feelings into something you can send to people you care about, or save for yourself as a thoughtful reminder of what matters, in a way that feels immediate and real.
I'm always chasing magic.
Nalora is my grandmother. She believes that the people we love are always connected to us by a “golden thread”—something that vibrates with feeling, even across time and distance. I’ve carried that idea with me my whole life.
My fascination with ink started early, sitting cross-legged on the floor watching The Joy of Painting. There was something amazing about watching a blank canvas slowly fill with life and story: blue skies, happy little trees, maybe a cabin tucked away in a wood by a lake. That repeated act of creation, made possible with just a few colors, never stopped feeling like magic.
I later spent years working with words and images—as a book editor, then as a designer in the digital world. While I loved the work, I found myself drawn back to something more tangible. Letterpress offers that: a way to swiftly move from an idea in my head to something I can hold in my hands.
Some things are worth extra time.
Sometimes a text or an email will do. Sometimes we resort to the auto-reply for the sake of speed.
Letterpress feels different. It’s slower, more physical, and more intentional. Each time the platen presses the paper to the type, it leaves a unique mark you can feel with your fingertips—something lasting in a way that digital work often isn’t.
More than that, it feels connecting.
In a world where so much communication is instant and fleeting, a handwritten note carries a different kind of weight. To open your mailbox and find something made and sent with care—something someone took the time to write—still feels like magic.
Nalora Press exists to make more of that magic possible.
Who will you connect with?
The mission of Nalora Press is simple: to help us connect more often through thoughtful words and the caring act of putting pen to paper. The things I make are an invitation to slow down, to reach out, and to remember the people you love in small, tangible ways.
I begin with my own ideas, press them to life on a machine older than my grandmother, and send them out into the world—where I hope they will reach farther than I can imagine, story by story, note by note.
The golden thread already connects us.
Paper and ink just make it visible.
Now tell me something about you.
I'd love to know what ideas you have! Whether you’re interested in working together on a custom print, event invitations, business cards, or something else entirely, get in touch and let’s start the conversation.
